Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: Again it was smooth sailing out on the bay because then we traveled with the swells. After about 50 minutes we saw a blow at least 2 kilometers away from the boat. When we got closer we saw that this was a humpback whale. It seemed to be milling around in this area, going in circles. We got to see the fluke few times when it went for dives. On the way back to land it got really rough and much colder because we traveled into the wind. When we were almost back to Reykjavík we got a nice surprise when a pod of 4-5 white beaked dolphins popped up in front of us, we spent few minutes with these animals.

Report from Hafsúlan: This tour had it all... rough weather, dolphins, whales, breaching whale and lots of seabirds! The wind was quite strong today and from the east, it meant that we could sail out with the swells and it was a nice ride. First some passengers spotted a pod of white-beaked dolphins, it was at least two groups spread out in the area maybe 15-20 individuals. We got good looks of 6-8 dolphins and they came right up to the boat checking us out and then we could see them feeding under a flock of seagulls. Then the guide spotted a big splash in the horizon infront of us, it was a breaching humpback whale! While we were traveling closer we could see it breach 4 more times and we now was so close that we started to see the body of the whale when it threw itself out of the water. At the whale it had stopped breaching and we could get closer, we saw the fluke coming up when it went for deeper dives and tail-slapping twice very close to the boat. The grand finale was when it breached again right infront of us only 50 meters away, think all passengers onboard will never forget that! We also had a second humpback in the area. Two whales and one was breaching, beautiful dolphins and seabirds, then it didn't mind that the journey back to harbor was rough. Well worth it being out this morning!
