Report from Elding II: The weather was very inviting this morning! We headed out of the harbour over a quiet sea and a pleasant breeze. There was a lot of bird activity throughout the tour. Marine birds play a very important rule in our tours as they often indicate the presence of prey. During the course of the ride we encountered a couple of minke whales. Though our first encountered was very promising as the whale popped up really close to us, both individuals turned out to be very difficult to keep track of, changing direction very quickly and constantly going for long deeper dives. Though it seldom happens, sometimes our whales are simply not in the mood. Since however, this tour did not held up to our company standards, we offer all our passengers the chance to come back again for free, on another whale watching ride, during the 2 years. Hope to see them all again soon!

Bird species seen today include: northern fulmar, black back gull, manx shearwater, artic tern, northern gannet, atlantic puffin
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today for the tour at 10:00. There is always some movement out on the bay, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
