CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 0900

Report from Eldey: We had incredibly calm seas as we set off this morning making up extra excited for what was to come this morning. On our way out we were lucky enough to spot some pretty active harbour porpoises. We saw 4 different pods totalling 10 individials with the biggest pod being 4. Then we got further out and started to spot a lot more wildlife. To begin with we saw a minke whale a few times before it swam off. Then very quickly a pod of 5 white beaked dolphins appeared. They were bow riding and jumping a bit too! Then we carried on and saw a very elusive minke before coming across a real minke hotspot. Here, we saw 4-5 minkes that all surfaced very regularly including 3 of them surfacing a lot within 50m of us! One of them was so close we could see the white armbands on the pectoral fins.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Eldey: Sailing out this afternoon, we knew that the weather and wind would be picking up, but we still expected to have similar sighting than this morning. Quite quickly, we found our main zone of activity: we started by seeing several (~10) harbor porpoises, roaming around us. This lead us to an area where multiple minke whales were feeding, with 6 of them coming close to us, for all to see. We decided to continue our path further out, sadly without much luck, as we ended finishing our tour with only these minke sightings to fill our afternoon.
