  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 9:00, 13:00

Today's whale watching tours from Reykjavík are on schedule. Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning we sailed out with calm seas and snowy skies searching for a new adventure. to our surprise, we didn't need to search for to long! As we were getting closer to Grótta lighthouse we spotted a blow not to far! A humpback whale was swimming slowly in shallow waters super close to shore. We watched the giant swim gently from a distance for a few minutes and then it fluked! resurfacing closer to us we watched excited! Then another fluke! As we waited for the whale to return to the surface we started noticing some splashes in the distance! we decided  to investigate and as we got closer it was clear those were white beaked dolphins swimming very fast in our direction! such a large pod of about 50-70 dolphins swam all around our boat! We even noticed 2 calves next to some adults! As time ran out we decided to return to the harbour with a big smile on our faces after a great morning at sea.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: The sun came out to see us leave the harbour to try to find some fun cetaceans! We still had a bit of swell thanks to the westerly winds but they were not big enough to stop us from having a bit of fun on the boat. After an hour of searching, we reached the harbour of Hafnarfjördur and found a humpback whale! This individual has been seen in this area for the past weeks and it was still munching on those delicious fish! Sprat was everywhere and so was the whale, circling us and going under the ship at times. We had a few close-ups with this cool giant and after a few minutes of fun, we had to say goodbye whaly whale and head back to the harbour.
