  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00, 13:00

Today's whale watching tour from Reykjavík is on schedule! Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR l 09:00

Report from Hafsulan: this morning we experienced a light rain that stayed with us until the sun started to rise. Nevertheless, the sea was calm and the conditions were great, allowing us to spot some whales even when the light was not the best yet! After going around Viðey island, we encountered ourselves next to Lundey and we spotted not only one dark back, but two! There were 2 humpback whales coming up to the surface! They were taking their time when restoring their breaths, one was even logging, very relaxed. They were also not spending a long time under the surface, and we saw them many times! At some point they popped up very close to our boat! The sea was so calm that we could see the details of their bodies underneath the surface! They showed us the fluke one last time and we said goodbye to them. We went back home slowly, enjoying the sunlight coming through the clouds.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: After a quick rain, the sun fought his way between the clouds to shine our path out of the harbour in search of cetaceans! The weather was calm and the sea calmer, almost like a lake, at least now that we were between the islands. Soon enough, a blow was seen and another one next to it. We were in presence of 2 humpback whales! One of them has been here for almost a month, Banana! After a few beautiful fluke dives, we ventured further out and we felt what the rest of the bay had in store for us, wave after wave. We did a 180° turn to go see the same individuals and after another fluke dive show, we headed back into the harbour of Reykjavík.
