CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: With low wind and great visibility, we had perfect conditions for whale-watching. Lots of Atlantic puffins were flying around, just outside of Reykjavík. A little later, we encountered two harbour porpoises - but only very briefly. They were clearly busy on an underwater adventure, and we only saw their small fins twice before they disappeared. In the same area, we spotted a minke whale! Soon, we discovered that there were three minke whales in this area, two of which were feeding very close to us and came up frequently. We spent most of the tour admiring these minke whales, and then headed back to the harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: This afternoon we had a very different tour to the morning. We sailed out once more, the swell had picked up a little bit but we were still eager to see what the afternoon had in store for us. We sailed out to where we had our luck this morning. We had no luck sadly so continued our search. We decided to try our luck near the whalefjord where we had heard rumours but it was quite a far sail for us. In the end we did return late to harbour but it was very worth as we found a humpback whale, and then it breached for us roughly 20x!! After a lot of sailing and a lot of sea, we were then completely spoilt! This humpback did a few sequences of 3-4 breaches, then a few shallow or deep dives and then back to breaching! What a tour!
