Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: For the same reason than this morning, we departed from Keflavik for the second and last tour of this day. Because we came back from the first tour this tour empty-handed, we were fiercely motivated to spot some whales ! Shortly after leaving the harbour, we spotted some harbour porpoises. Not everyone could see this first pod, as they surfaced very quickly and only few times, but it appears they were feeding. After losing them we had to sail further offshore to find a second pod of harbour porpoises. We could have better look at theses ones, because they appeared at the front of the boat then came to right side before disappearing. After a while, we encountered a minke whale that spurted out of the water in front of us. It was really hard to follow this whale as it was taking a lot of long deep dives, but we managed to get it really close in front of the boat so hopefully everyone could have very good looks. It was quite a difficult whale watching this afternoon, but still we could catch nice glimpses before going back to Keflavik.

Tour at 09:00
Report from Eldey: As conditions were too rough out at sea, this morning tour left from the harbour of Keflavik. So even if we had to overcome some swells and a cold wind, we sailed in relatively merciful conditions, regarding the actual weather. Unfortunately, no matter how patient we were, no cetaceans were spotted on this tour despite the efforts of the crew. For this reason, complimentary tickets were handed over to passengers willing to try their luck again for free. May they have better luck next time !
