Report from Eldey: Though the weather conditions were in our favour, it was a difficult tour. Apart from a bit of a swell, it was a very comfortable ride. But regardless of the team efforts, it was not possible to find any whales and dolphins out here. Nevertheless, we could not say our journey was uneventful, as we had multiple encounters with unusually-cheerful harbour porpoises! These animals tend to be quite shy and illusive, but the 3 pods we encounter along the tour were super chilled and a bit curious about us, which is quite outstanding considering these species. However, due to their flicker nature, harbour porpoises are not considered amongst our target species. Therefore, we provided the opportunity for all our passengers to comeback on another whale watching ride with us, for free!

Report from Eldey: After two stormy days it was great to back on the sea. For our surprise, conditions were perfect, with calm surface and only a little wind. After 40 min of sailing we found ourselves surrounded by seabirds - seagulls, fulmars and northern gannets were flying above us while razorbills, guillemots and cormorants were sitting on the surface. It was exciting and we were hoping to find some marine mammals around. Suddenly our passengers were pointing to our left, where group of up to 10 harbour porpoises was swimming between birds. Normally this small cetacean are shy and difficult to observe but this time we were lucky and porpoises were often showing themselves. Unfortunately shortly we were running out of time and we had to come back to the harbour. As nothing else than porpoises was seen, we offered to our guests a complimentary tickets to use them for another whale watching tour with Elding.
