Tour Status for 13 (1pm): RUNNING FROM OTHER HARBOUR

Due to unfavourable conditions out of Reykjavík Harbour we will be sailing out from Hafnarfjörður Harbour. A bus will be ready and waiting for passengers at our ticket office in the Old Harbour in Reykjavík and drive off to Hafnarfjörður at the scheduled departure time at 13 (1pm). This will result in a slightly longer tour, or around 4 hrs. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact our ticket office at elding@elding.is or +354 519 5000.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The sea conditions had improved since the last time we were at sea in the morning. Less white caps and not much swell. Still, we had some rocky situations due to the powerful winds coming from the south. Nonetheless, our plan was sailing along the Reykjanes peninsula so we would get more shelter. It worked out very well and people even congratulated the captain for the good manuvering. Unfortunately, cetaceans were not willing to show themselves this time despite the one and only minke whale some passengers spotted after 40 minutes of sailing. This one was very sneaky and we lost track of it after 10 minutes. Passengers could only catch a glimpse of it. Therefore, we offered complimentary tours which are valid within two years! I hope I get to see our passengers on one of our tours again. It´s always worthy to give it another try.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: Interchangable weather this morning, heavy rain to sunshine to heavy rain. Lots of rainbows this morning. It was windy but we keep shelter sailing along the Reykjanes peninsula. We sailed all the way to the Hornsbjarg cliffs near Keflavik. Unfortunately, no cetaceans were seen on this tour but we enjoyed the gannets, scenary and in the Icelandic weather. We offered our passengers complimentary tickets so that they can come again in the next 2 years either in Reykjavik or Akureyri if booked prior to the tour. Still nice to be out on the water.
