Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: we went out from Hafnarfjörður today as there we would be sheltered more than if we had gone from Reykjavik. Given the terrible snow storm and no visibility on the bus to Hafnarfjörður, we were pleasantly surprised to find that once we were out on the water, there was excellent visibility and few white tops, even if the swell was considerable. This gave us hope that we might encounter something good, especially as Hafnarfjörður has often been kind to us sightings-wise. As we sailed, we could see the incredibly high waves in a distance, measuring several meters, but we were in a calmer area. As we got closer to Reykjavik, we could see them break with such force on Kjalarnes that it left one in amazement over mother nature's powers. Unfortunately, though, she seemed determined not to give us any cetaceans today, hence complimentary tickets were given at the end of the tour. It would have been lovely to see something now that we are looking at a cancellation at least tomorrow and possibly the following day but that was not meant to happen. Oh well, hopefully we will be back out on the water by Friday.
