CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: It was quite the windy, cloudy day today but luckily the wildlife was close by so we managed to stay in relatively calm seas this afternoon. It did not take all that long before we spotted our familiar duo of humpback whales, banana and their friend were hang out close to a buoy and so we got closer. They were very calm at first but later on they picked up their pace a bit and were going back and forth in the area, possibly feeding in fish nearby. We spent a long time with them, sometimes being lucky enough to see them from very close by as they surfaced next to and behind our boat! Eventually, we explored a bit further and we found a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins. They first came by curiously but then decided to be not very interested in us. For a short time we observed them from a safe distance but then we let them be by themselves again. A quick stop by the humpbacks later, we sailed back towards the harbour, concluding a successful afternoon!
