Status: RUNNING

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. According to the forecast there will be a light NW wind with 4-6 m/s. If you are sensitive to motion sickness we do offer preventative tablets in the ticket office, free of charge! The temperature will be around -4°C. We have heated indoor areas on board but we also have overalls to keep you warm out on deck.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Let history know that today's entry is written with frozen fingers ! Today the cold peaked in this winter, with -7°C in Reykjavik, but to our delight a glorious sun came with the package ! Using our brilliant full body suits and navigating between the outside deck and the heated saloon areas, everybody could make the most out of this beautiful weather conditions and avoid getting frozen. We navigated in calm see as well, but endless visibility, so it goes without saying that the crew was psyched up and in a good mood to find some whales ! But the bay seemed empty of food, even the sea birds were scarce, we only came across few cormorants and a couple of gulls or fulmars out there. As an excellent cruise is not enough for a good whale watching experience, we offered complimentary tickets to any of our sailors willing to have another shot with us, the least we can do for those fierce people braving the freezing temperatures. Our wish for next time: exactly the same conditions, but some more wildlife !
