Today's whale watching tour from Reykjavík at 09:00 is on schedule. Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Elding: Today we sailed into the bay with a gentle breeze from the west and a light swell. We were hoping for some adventure, and soon enough, we spotted white-beaked dolphins in the distance—a pod with three small calves! They moved so gracefully, and as we watched, we noticed more dolphins—about 30 in total—swimming peacefully together. After a while, we decided to continue our journey, and about an hour later, we spotted a blow in the distance. A humpback whale was nearby! We stayed with it as it surfaced, exhaled, and dove beneath the water. Eventually, we had to turn back to the harbor after a great day at sea.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Elding: Our tour started under a dark and cloudy sky, but our smile and a hot chocolate in hand helped us go out there to find some fun animals! About one hour into the tour, after a few waves we saw a blow in the distance, but as we got there, it seemed to have disappeared. We carried on, never backing down and soon enough 1 minke whale popped close to us!! Only the second time this year we ever see one! It seems like they are truly back in the bay! We stayed with this individual for a bit until it went away from us. Our time was getting shorter so we turned to Reykjavík and fortunately we saw another blow! This time we were able to find it and say that for sure it was a humpback whale!! We were so happy to see it that it stayed swimming close to the surface so we could see it come up very easily! We got back late to the harbour but quite happy!!
