CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out this morning, in the harbour the sun was shining and it felt like summer but as we got further out we were met by some Northern wind! We sailed for about an hour when the captain spotted a blow! This was most likely an elusive humpback whale and at the same time we spotted a minke whale very close to our boat! The first humpback disappeared but was replaced quite quickly by a 2nd one, this one was quite easy to see even despite the swell! It seemed we had found a good spot as there were a few minkes that popped up now and then. In total we saw 5 minke whales, and then on the way back saw one more humpback that even showed its fluke, making it a total of 3 humpback whales! As we did stay out a little longer to try and get a good look at everything we did make our way back to harbour a little later than intended. On the way back we enjoyed some music and more sunshine!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: Today we still had fresh cold winds onto our faces but the sun decided to stick with us during the whole tour! We sailed out next to Esja mountain, which was beautiful due to the bit of snow on top. After a while, we spotted a harbour porpoise on our side, very fast and tricky! So tricky that we didn't see it again. So we continued, now heading to the area we went in the morning and spotting the many Atlantic puffins on the way. When we got to the area, the Northern fulmars started to follow us while we were looking for the whales, which was fun to watch! When returning slowly, there was a minke whale that popped up right in front of us! We waited to see it again and this individual was very close to the boat! Amazing! We could even see it underneath the surface one more time. This minke was big! However, it never came to say hello again, so we continued our journey home. As we didn't see anything anymore, we decided to give out complimentary tickets so the passengers can try their luck one more time.
