Report from Eldey: What a beautiful day! Winter has finally come to 2019, with snow on the mountains, calm seas and plenty of wildlife. We sailed to our usual spot to find our favourite humpback whale in Kollafjörður and once again it did not disappoint. Celebrated our return with a big unexpected breach (jump out of the water), just spectacular. It was the one and only breach and luckily we were all looking in the right direction to see it. We stayed with this humpie for a little over an hour and enjoyed its company as it slowly travelled around, showing it´s big fluke (tail) often the surface. Even more beautiful with the winter suns light and Reykjavik in the background. Definitly a pleasure to watch as love that he/she is staying around for so long as today is the 12th day of encountering this individual that will be named next week by our passengers and customers when a competition goes live of our social media. There was also a very cute curious harbour seal that graced us with its presence just a few meters from our vessel. The birdlife was also amazing, especially the cormorants that were just everywere. A day to remember for sure.
