CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Elding: This morning we had clear skies and the sun was shining behind us as we sailed out onto the bay. When we sailed a little bit further onto the bay, the wind got a little bit stronger as well as the waves. However, we were lucky enough to find a minke whale that surfaced right in front us but unfortunately it disappeared underwater a few seconds later. We also stopped next to some flocks of seabirds that were feeding, to check if there was something beneath. We were surprised in another occasion with another minke that was unfortunately as elusive as the first one, even though it was very beautiful to see and to spot the blows everytime it surfaced. Finally, a few minutes before entering the harbour, we found a small pod of harbour porpoises. However, since the tour didn't meet our expectations, we decided to give complimentary tickets so people could get another chance to see these beautiful animals at sea.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Hafsulan: We sailed out on calm seas and clear skies out of Reykjavik port. On our morning tour we went straight out with direction towards the open waters with not really good sightings so our captain decided to give a chance and sail towards Hvalfjördur. We stared our way close to shore and entered in the whale fiord. We enjoyed the amazing sceneries under the bright sun but we didn't had the chance to come across any bigger animal. We had a really nice cruise but we didn't find any whales so we decided to give complimentary tickets to all our gests to have another chance to enjoy our tours and admire the whales that we host in Faxafloi bay.
