Tour status: RUNNING

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: We are having here very warm December - today only few guests decided to put our extra suits on. Winter is not coming? But despite begin a little bit odd this weather was great for us for whale watching. We started searching between islands for animal which was staying there for a month. First unexpected event was picking up our passengers from other smaller boat - lucky them to caught that special ride when they were late for our departure! Maybe they brought luck with them as soon we found a humpback whale. It was more offshore than normally but it was traveling back in direction of Reykjavik. Whale was very relaxed, just swimming by our side with constant speed. It went down only once when it showed the tail but it was enough to identified this humpback as Videy. We had amazing sightings with whale on our side and we were glad to see that it's not bothered by us at all. We ended this encounter when whale reached shallow water and start resting by logging on the surface. On the way back, with setting sun, we done some sightseeing by cruising next to the Reykjavik shore.
