  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 9:00, 13:00

Today's whale watching tours from Reykjavík are on schedule. Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning, the sea welcomed us with calm waters and a light breeze as we set sail from the harbor. We spent the first hour enjoying the serenity of the ocean, sipping coffee, and soaking in the beautiful view. As we cruised along, we spotted a dorsal fin breaking the surface—our first sighting of the day! It was a Minke whale, likely feeding in the waters rich with fish. The whale was in a playful mood, resurfacing multiple times, some of them surprisingly close to our boat. Though the Minke whale was a highlight, we decided to explore the rest of the bay, but time was not on our side and we had to head back to the harbor.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR I 13:00

Report from Eldey: The skies had cleared up a lot and the winds were pushing our backs as we set out into the bay this afternoon. After searching about we found a minke whale! It was a thrilling encounter as it was moving about all around us, surfacing often very close to our boat. We had to keep our heads on a swivel to follow this individual around, never knowing where and how close it might surface next, which added to the excitement of this encounter. eventually, we gave this minke it´s well deserved rest and headed on back towards Reykjavik.
