✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 13:00

Report from Eldey: Now did we not only have calm seas but the sun had woken up and was shining on our faces. With our previous tour not having had luck in sighting animals, we took a different route, aiming first towards Akraness and then heading more northwards.  Crossing into the West towards Reykjanes we had more and more birds around, making us hopeful as birds tend to feed on the same fish, and thus in the same areas, as our whales and dolphins. Still, the bay remained quiet also this tour. Probably things just had moved to places outside of our searching area, which we know from our 19 years of company history, can change within a heartbeat. Everyone was invited to witness this by themselves by using the complimentary ticket we provided to everyone to return again.

✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 09:00

Report from Eldey: What a nice change in weather after the last stormy days we have been having. Visibility was great with only a few white caps scattered around. It was very scenic, almost dramatic, as we had dark rain clouds above us but further out the horizon was clear and we could see the blue skies above Snæfellsness. We sailed out towards the West of the bay then crossing it towards Hvalfjöður in the East. But despite covering such a wide area we did not succeed in finding cetaceans this morning. Hopefully that was just the quiet after the storm and all our passengers will return using their complimentary ticket in the next days or the following two years to come and see our wildlife.

Birds seen today include: common guillemot, northern fulmar, eider duck, black-backed gull, black-headed gull, cormorant.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There is going to be some movement out on the bay, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
