Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: We thought that we could not bet this morning´s tour but we were wrong. The sea calmed down further so it was like a mirror. Sunglasses and sunscreen was definitely needed this afternoon. There were less dolphins in the bay but we came across a pod of maybe 7-10 white-beaked dolphins, which played under and around the boat. There were more humpback whales though, at least 10 scattered about. It was lovely to watch them come together and start traveling side by side and then seperate once more. By the end of the tour they all seemed to pair up and travel at a resting speed and often bring up and showing their beautiful, massive tails and one after the other. Elding also had a unique encounter of a humpback whale that breached (jumped out of the water) twice right next to the vessel, maybe 60-70 meters away. Hafsúlan also had a quick glance at a minke whale on the way home. The scenery was also very picturesque to watch the rain falling in the disance, were had mainly blue skies for the majority of the tour but on the way home it started to rain over us but it ended with a vivid rainbow overhead. Perfect end to a perfect day.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: This morning was incredible, sun was shining and the sea conditions were perfect. Lots of tourists came to join us, so we took out two boats to make the passengers more comfortable. We sailed offshore and after 40 minutes started to see the splashes from white-beaked dolphins in the distance. Once we got closer we could see the pod of white-beaked dolphins getting larger and larger and it was amazing to see the splashes in all directions, in all distances. There must have been at least 100 individuals scattered all around the boat. Then we saw our first blow of about 7 different scattered humpback whales throughout the tour. They were all so relaxed and came so close to the boat. It is always so amazing to have these whales feel comfortable with our presence and have it their choice to come close. A morning to remember.
