- CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 9:00, 13:00
Today's whale watching tours from Reykjavík are on schedule. Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!
CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: The morning sailing to Faxafloi bay started with calm seas and almost no wind just a bit of swell and good visibility. We spotted a large flock of birds circling a spot in the distance, and out of nowhere, dorsal fins emerged—white-beaked dolphins! A small pod of about 6-7 dolphins surfaced frequently, clearly feeding, and swam closer to our bow. We stayed with them for a while, enjoying the sighting before we headed our journey into the bay. Unfortunately, the weather took a turn as rain began to fall, quickly reducing visibility. As time was running out we needed to start our way back to Reykjavik.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300
Report from Eldey: The start of the tour was a very wet one, there was a lot of rain coming down. Thankfully, this didn't last too long. Not too long after it spotted we had our first sighting, a pod of 3 harbour porpoises. We didn't spend too long paying attention to them though as ahead of us a feeding minke whale appeared! This individual was moving around quite a bit but luckily for us came very close a few times to give us a really good look. Soon after leaving this minke we spotted a solo harbour porpoise. After a bit more of travelling during the bay we spotted 2 Atlantic puffins ahead of us! About the same time we saw a lot of jumping white beaked dolphins. There were about 12 of them including some juveniles. They were also feeding, like the minke. We got to see them bowriding as well as the jumping! We then headed back to the harbour after a great afternoon.
