CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Hafsúlan: With a cold breeze coming from land, we went on an adventure! The sun was shining low, perfect for golden hour pics and also great to spot blows! About 15 minutes into the tour, two blows were seen about 500 metres away from us, and as we got closer we could confirm that the blows came from 2 humpback whales!! They were Banana and her buddy again, they have been here for a week or more now. These gentle giants gave a show of high fluke diving, quick napping and close ups! We were delighted by this! After a while we decided to try new grounds and sail away, trying to find something else. All of a sudden two smaller bodies jumped almost at the same time! They were white-beaked dolphins!! An endemic species that during the winter likes to be in super pods. We were super lucky as this was one of them, about 50 or more dolphins scattered around Lundey, something that we see rarely! They did everything a dolphin does: jumping, bow-riding, close up, wave riding.. all of it! We stayed with them for quite a while, beaceuse our dear passengers were in love with these fellas! As the time passed we sailed away from them, passed by the humpback to say bye and headed back to the harbour!
