CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We set sail towards the bay with a sunny day on our backs and almost no wind. The sea was very calm with almost no waves, so it was very good for sightings! Although the conditions were good, the sightings weren´t and just after almost one and a half hours we had our first sighting, a harbour porpoise that disappeared right away. But, after another ten minutes we started to see a blow not far away, it was a humpback whale that was being a bit shy, but after some dives it decided to approach us to say hello! It did a very slow fluke dive so we could take nice pictures. After that, we had no more time and the captain called it a day!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out with the wind behind us making it feel quite warm. There was also very little swell making it very pleasant. After sailing for about an hour and passing many Atlantic puffins and Arctic terns we spotted a blow. It belonged to a humpback whale. We got to see this individual fluke dive before it went for a short dive and then came up again for us to see it's great body. As there were many boats we then moved on to another blow we saw. This second humpback whale fluke dived straight away but we got a great view of it! It then really disappeared and we didn't see it again. So we travelled back to our first humpback. This was had travelled back in the direction of the land. Out of nowhere it did 4 penducle throws! This was so exciting and the splashes were so big. It then carried on swimming surfacing a few times whilst also showing the fluke when it dived down. We then headed back to the harbour after a very exciting end to the tour.
