Tour at 17:00

Report from Elding: We headed out to the area where we had the Humpback whale, and as we sailed towards it, we saw some tail lobbing in the distance. We came close to the Humpback whale and it carried on tail lobbing, causing some big splashes. We were lucky enough to see the Humpback whale breaching! Some Minke whales appeared throughout the whole trip around us, and also some white-beaked dolphins in the distance. Another nice tour to finish off the day :)

Report from Hafsúlan: Whales and whales and again lots of whales...We were surrounded by many many active and feeding minke whales. They lounge-fed a lot, stayed very much at the surface while feeding, and one minke whale breached twice which is really something very special. We also saw two groups of white-beaked dolphins. This was indeed a very nice tour.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding: Another successful tour, we found another area where there were lots of Minke whales feeding, not quite as active as the morning tour, but still very nice to observe up close. At the end of the trip we found a Humpback whale, which seemed very curious coming up to the boat very closely and observing us! At the end of the trip we saw some white-beaked dolphins.

Report from Hafsúla: The weather was perfect today, sunny and warm and the wind was calm. We started off by heading straight out on the bay were we soon spotted a couple of big flocks of feeding birds. When we got to that area we saw several minke whales surfacing and were even lucky enough to see two of them doing a belly-up! Then we spotted a big blow further out (approx 1,5 miles away) and decided to head out there. Was it what we thought it was? Yebb! A humpback whale! It was a perfect sighting. It was feeding in the surface and showed us its belly several times. It came very close to us and everybody was very excited. There were also some minkes in that same area. After the humpback had surfaced many many times it lifted the fluke as it headed for a deep dive – a perfect way to end a great tour. On our way back to the harbour we made a stop at Akurey to look at the cute puffins :)

Tour at 9:00

Report from Elding: A great tour in fantastic weather. We found an area where there were lots of minke whales feeding. They came up with their bellies first so we could see the pink underside of the whales, which was a great sight! We even saw the flukes of one minke whale which is very unusual, and lots of action at the surface. We also spotted some white-beaked dolphins on this tour, and of course had a look at the puffins too!
