CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: We sailed under calm seas and cloudy skies straight towards the open waters. After cruising for a while, we reached a one mile stretch of water where we encountered at least 8 to 9 humpback whales. We spent the the entire trip in that area, surrounded by these magnificent animals. It was an incredible experience from their fluke dives to the peaceful atmosphere and stunning scenery.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 11:00
Report from Hafsúlan: We started the tour with a little bit of rain but soon after we left the harbor the sky cleared and we enjoyed a sunny tour! It wasn't long until we encountered our first whale, a humpback whale swimming leisurely around the bay, giving us a few good fluke dives before we moved on! Then, we saw a pectoral fin in the distance and hurried over there to find another humpback whale, pec slapping and rolling, and then we saw why! There was a small pod of 3-5 white-beaked dolphins playing with this humpback whale. We watched with awe in our eyes as they moved so effortlessly, almost as if they were dancing together. After we had enjoyed their company for a while, we moved on to find our third and final humpback whale of the tour, who we spent a few minutes with before returning to land.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00
Report from Eldey: This afternoon we sailed under mixed weather conditions - it started of with some light rain and cloud cover, and ended in sunshine. Unfortunately, we didn't get a a rainbow, but very shortly after taking off we spotted something even better - a blow from a humpback whale! We followed it for quite a while and was able to see multiple fluke dives. Then, we spotted another blow about 500 meters away, so we decided to head over to have a look. This individual was feeding and had a big flock of seagulls following it, also keen to take part in lunch. After watching it feed for some time, the humpback whale started rolling and slapping its long pectoral fins against the surface. What a wonderful way to finish the tour!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 15:00
Report from Hafsúlan: The sun had poked its head through the clouds as we made our way yet again into the bay of Faxaflói. The waves had calmed a bit, and the sun was shining! We made our way to the same feeding ground we had explored earlier and found 3 humpback whales swimming together in tranquility, almost in sync! One of the whales we knew very well from the V-shaped nick in his dorsal fin, it was Davy Jones II! We watched Davy and his buddies as they swam calmly through the bay, then we made our way further down south to find two more humpback whales feeding away, but taking longer dives. In the distance, we could also see another blow! After a while spent with these humpbacks, we took the scenic route home and enjoyed great views of the Reykjavík skyline to top off this amazing tour!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING ┃ 17:00
Report from Eldey: We sailed out from Reykjavik port under calm seas and clear skies with direction towards the open waters. Didn't took a long until we spotted our first blows and they where many too ! We sailed fast to investigate. Soon we found our self surrounded by at 9 humpback whales. An incredible show. We stayed there drifting in neutral surrounded by these amazing animals. Then not far from as we spotted a pot of 7 white beaked dolphins .We approached the and enjoyed them while they where jumping and playing on the waves. To our surprise more humpback whales appear we stayed with 2 of them until the time was up and we sailed back to our port.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 20:30
Report from Elding: We went out with a strong breeze from the south west. We did not have to travel far. Soon after we passed Grótta, we went towards the south west and spotted multiple blows of whales on the horizon. We started to get closer and first encountered a fast minke whale that surfaced close to our boat but disappeared quickly. A few hundred meters further 6-8 humpback whales were feeding near the surface. We got closer and were surrounded by them. It was amazing to see these giants feeding and all the sea birds trying to get their share of the masses of fish that the whales were pushing towards the surface. Later also a small pod of around 5 white beaked dolphins joined in and swam along our boat as we made our way back to Reykjavik.
