✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 13:00

Report from Eldey: Winter is definitely here! It stopped snowing just in time for the tour and we got to enjoy a beautiful scenery with snow-covered mountains as we sailed out to Faxafloi bay. There was not too much wind although some swell. Spotting conditions for finding  whales or dolphins seemed good since there was almost no whitecaps on waves and the visibility was quite good.  We were searching through large areas in the bay and keeping our eyes out for any signs of Cetaceans: dark backs with a dorsal fin, splashes, blows... Despite our best efforts, we didn't find any whales or dolphins as they simply weren't in the area today. This is what sometimes happens when dealing with wild animals, unfortunately. Therefore we provided our passengers complimentary tickets to come on another tour with us and hopefully have better luck next time!

Bird species seen today include: great cormorant, black-headed gull, black-backed gull, eider duck,

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There could always be some movement out on the bay, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
