Today's whale watching tours from Reykjavík are on schedule! Remember to dress according to weather and feel free to borrow our thermal overalls if needed!
CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: After a bit of a wintry mix this morning, we bundled up and headed out, excited to see who we would spot today. Shortly into the tour the skies cleared and we were met with brilliant sunshine, highlighting the snowy mountains around us. It was not too long before we spotted the blow and went to investigate. As we got closer we realized it was one humpback whale! This individual was really relaxed and gave us consistent surfaces. The bay was so calm that we could even hear this individual take a breath. It was exciting to see their entire body through the surface of the water. This individual then presented their fluke which was amazing to see their unique pattern. After multiple surface sequences, we waved goodbye and went to see if anyone else was around. Although we saw many seabirds about, no more cetaceans were around. We headed back to port. What a great way to start the day!
