CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: This morning we sailed out into the overcast Faxaflói bay with a bit of swell rocking us. We headed straight to Hvalfjörður, where sightings had been good recently, and we're glad we did because we were greeted by one humpback whale! This humpback was taking short dives which allowed everyone on board to get a great look at it every time it surfaced, even coming quite close to the boat! Then, out of nowhere, it began tail slapping repeatedly right in front of us! It must have slapped its tail over 20 times before it slowed down a little bit. At this point, the swell had gotten quite bigger and the rain was heavy, so we said goodbye to this humpback and it gave us a goodbye back with a fluke dive!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 1300
Report from Eldey: We left this afternoon in the rain again and headed straight to Hvalfjöður. The fog was quite strong when we got here hiding some of the mountains. But on our way in we spotted 2 harbour porpoises that surfaced quite a few times as they headed out the fjord. Then as we got in further we started to see blows from a humpback whale! This whale was really active, coming up lots and going for many fluke dives. In the distance, further in the fjord we could see blows from a second humpback too. After a long time watching the humpback we then headed back home with a boat full of happy passengers.
