Tour at 13:00
At the end of the morning tour we left the dolphins rather far out in Faxaflói bay. Therefore we were very surprised to find them again very close to the harbour. They were as funny and curious as in the morning. Once again we always had several white-beaked dolphins with us. We saw them jumping in the distance but one jumped several times just right in front of the boat. That was something rather special because most often the dolphins here stop jumping as soon as the boat gets closer to them. As you can imagine we had a lot of fun with them. After a while we left the dolphins and went further out in Faxaflói bay to find the other animals which we had seen the last days, but today they all stayed hidden somehow. But it seemed that everybody enjoyed the sailing. It was a bit bumpy on the way out even if the wind had calmed down since the morning, but the beautiful scenery of the Icelandic coast around us and the sunshine made everybody forget to get sick. So even though we didn't spot any more animals, everybody was smiling when leaving the boat.

We had a bit of a strong wind in the morning so we decided to leave from Hafnarfjörður again, which is a better harbour in certain wind directions. And the whales as well have been rather close to the Hafnafjörður harbour recently. Very soon after we left the harbour the first white-beaked dolphin appeared! We spotted more and more dolphins while we kept on sailing at a very very slow speed. We had very active dolphins around us througout the whole tour. They approached the boat often, jumped in the distance and swam a long time just beside us. Sometimes we thought we lost them, but some of them came always back and joined us. To be honest, I think we have never had the chance to watch dolphins for such a long time. They usually lose interest after a while. But it was their decision, we didn't do anything, we just sailed ... and enjoyed them :-)
