- NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00
We had northern lights the minute we sailed out of the harbour, on both sides of the boat! A nice green arch stretched above the night sky and a green patch above mt. Esja. As the tour went on, they even changed shapes a few times!

Tonight we were expecting an activity 3/9 on the Kp index. The sky would be mostly clear and we could see loads of stars! As we sailed out and our eyes started adjusted to the darkness, we could see the northern lights starting to get strong!
It was windy, but it was a gorgeous, sunny day in the bay! Not too long after sailing out, we spotted 2 humpback whales swimming side by side, one of them was our beloved Banana. They would pop up close to our vessel, and we could hear and see them so well. After a good while with them, with the best encounter, off we went back home, extremely happy!
We wet out with strong winds, but just a few minutes outside of the harbour we spotted the blows of 2 humpback whales. Banana and friend were busy feeding, so we got a good look at them. After we spent some time with them, we cruised around the islands and found 2 harbour seals, one was checking us out and the other one resting on the rocks.

We had a lovely windy night that blew away the clouds and opened the sky for us. The northern lights revealed themselves, first with a green glow that formed an arch that soon became stronger. We also saw a bit of dancing and different colours.
Today was quite windy, but the sun was shining and we soon spotted 2 humpback whales, one of which was our friend Banana. They were swimming around, coming so close we could see every detail on their bodies. We also got several good fluke dives and lots of birds flying around. After cruising around, we went back to our friends one last time before heading home.

The sky was clear as we went out of the harbour with the northern lights already shining above us. We enjoyed the views all throughout the tour and were able to take wonderful pictures. We had an arch all across the sky as we sailed back!
The weather was a bit rough today with lots of wind and some swell. Fortunately we didn't have to sail too far, before we found a pair of humpback whales. They were feeding and playing around, one of them even rolled over and we could have a look at the underside of their beautiful flukes as they dove. We admired the beautiful skyline of Reykjavik on our way home.

Due to unfavorable weather conditions, we have decided to cancel the Northern Lights Cruise tonight!
We had a bit of wind but the temperature was pretty mild for January! After passing Engey and Viðey islands, we spotted a pair of humpback whales - it was Banana and their new friend. They were feeding so were moving around a lot and keeping us on our toes. One of them even did a full breach out of the water! We also spotted a solo harbour porpoise.

The forecast was pretty good this evening - high activity on the Kp index, and gaps in the clouds. We waited patiently for the auroras to appear, but unfortunately they never did, so all our guests were offered complimentary tickets to try again!

The tour started and ended with a starry sky filled with northern lights activity! We saw all shapes and sizes, in all shades and colours. A massive corona formed just above us and stayed there for a few minutes, making a few necks a bit sore.
Today, although the wind was a bit strong, the sun was shining strong and we braved the conditions out on the top deck. We soon spotted 2 humpback whales swimming side by side, between the harbour and Engey island! It was Banana and its friend! We got closer and could hear their blows and see the bumps on their rostrums - such a cool sighting!
We started the day by sailing around the islands of Reykjavík where we saw plenty of bird life. We came across 2 grey seals and about an hour into the tour we finally saw a humpback whale! We saw it do a few fluke dives and managed to get a few nice close up views. We were also checked out by a few curious grey seals before sailing back to shore.

We didn't even have to leave the harbour before we saw the northern lights! They were green and red, which is a very rare colour to witness. The auroras were visible during the whole tour and at one point they appeared overhead - it was beautiful!
