CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning we sailed out into our glorious bay, we had very little wind and completely blue and clear skies. We eagerly set out to see what was in store for us today. On the tour we were joined by lots of gannets, fulmars and puffins! We got to watch the Northern gannets dive plunge around us, and after a long sail we found a minke whale! This minke was quite a friendly individual, coming up a few times quite close to us! There were times were it came up right in the sparkles of the sun glare, which was quite beautiful to see. After some time together we did have to make our journey back to harbour.

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We once again set sail into Faxaflói bay where we were met with sunshine and calm wind. After about an hour of searching for whales, we encountered our first species: a lone minke whale! We stayed in that area for a few minutes trying to see if it would surface again, but it had sadly disappeared and we continued our search. A few minutes later, we heard a rumor that another whale had been spotted in a different area so we began making our way there. As we were sailing, we passed by two more minke whales and then, a humpback whale appeared from the deep! The whale, known to us as as Aang, surfaced a few more times and arched its back, giving us a good glimpse of its tail fluke before we headed back to land. A good end to a good day!
