CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 0900

Report from Hafsulan: As soon as we left this morning with the sun out there was a minke whale! It was spotted just seconds after passing the harbour walls. We stayed with it a while watching it come up and surface all over. In typical minke fashion it was quite unpredictable. But it came very close across our front giving us a really good look. It was a very nice start to our tour. We then headed out and saw many exciting birds. As we got further out the swell did increase in size quite a lot giving some passengers some green faces. We then turned which made the ride a bit calmer. As we approached the harbour again we spotted the minke whale but this time there was also a second one! We watched both of them now. One of them then came right up to the boat, almost as if it was bowriding like a dolphin. It then started to blow bubbles from under the water too. This was 100% the highlight of the tour. Also being able to see the white armbands on the minke is always a special moment. We then made the short trip back to the harbour very happy.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Hafsula: This afternoon we sailed out once more eager to see what would come out to play! Not long after leaving the harbour we already spotted our first whale - a minke whale! Normally minkes can be quite elusive but this one was quite friendly coming up multiple times close to us. We watched on for a bit, and it often came up extremely close to us. We could even see the white markings on the pectoral fins! After some time we decided to head further out and see what else there was to see. After some sailing we found a pod of 9 white beaked dolphins! This pod was quite relaxed and probably feeding. They were swimming around us, often changing direction - sometimes close and sometimes far. At one point it looked like they were surfing and jumping a little, always keeping us on their toes with where they would resurface. After quite some time together we headed back to harbour. On the way back to turned on some music, and saw one more minke whale as well!
