CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 09:00
Report from Eldey: Today, we sailed out to a somewhat smooth ocean with little wind but still quite the swell. Northerly winds brought some icy air, giving us a bit of an Arctic experience, especially with the overalls on deck. About an hour into the tour, excitement started spreading across the boat because we spotted our first whale! It was a humpback whale! We go to observe the animal a couple of times, but didn't stay too long as there was several boats in the area. The excitement of the first sighting hadn't worn off yet, when we spotted another humpback whale! This one was spending a lot of time at the surface and displayed its fluke quite consistently. Our captain, Ottó, even called it "fluky-ful"! After these fantastic whale encounters, we carried on, and on our way back, we were very amused to observe the Atlantic puffins trying to take off for flight. It was a very nice trip!
