Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 9:00 and 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress according to weather, as it is usually colder at sea than on land.

Report from Eldey: The sunrise was beautiful this morning, and made the perfect background for our sightings of two humpback whales today. One individual was feeding calmly and surfacing frequently. After spending some wonderful moments with him, we ventured further out into the bay and quickly spotted a second humpback whale. He was traveling towards the first individual. While we were focused on this whale, the first one breached in the distance! As the second individual was traveling in that direction anyway, we went back to observe the first one a few more times before it was time to head back to the harbour.

Report from Eldey and Hafsúlan: our afternoon was very windy, but the whales, views and sunshine totally paid off! Right after we left the harbour, we spotted a big blow in the distance, but people still had time to prepare themselves to get ready because we had a couple of minutes to get there. So when we got closer, we could see a beautiful humpback whale, going for deeper dives and coming back so fast, lunge feeding! Not far from it, there was another blow, and since there was some boats coming, we decided to check it out. This other humpback was coming towards the first one, both feeding a lot. We have a fish finder sonar inside the boat, with a very low frequency, that it scans right underneath us. This fish finder was crazy! The area had so many fish that we understood why there whales were so happy and actively feeding. We then decided to take a round, going to other areas and closer to Lundey island. There, we found other 2 blows, of 2 more humpbacks. One going for longer deep dives and the other one resting on the surface, logging, before showing us the big fluke. This afternoon was spectacular with all the sightings and we came back to the harbour feeling the warmth on our faces, after seeing our favorite animals one again.
