CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING 09:00

Report from Eldey: We set sail this morning in quite unusual weather; it was sunny and dry! Enjoying the vitamin D we made our way in to the bay, looking for signs of wildlife. After a hour of sailing small black dorsal fins were popping up in the distance, these turned out to be white-beaked dolphins! A pod of 6 dolphins were swimming all around us, coming close to the boat and allowing a good look at them. There was even a mother and a calf! They did not seems bothered by the boat, just resting and traveling around us. In the same moment we also spotted a minke whale! This one came up twice but then continued its way on. After a lovely time with them, we continued on and saw lots of puffins! As we were making our way back to the harbour, the same pod of dolphins joined us again. We got some nice looks but then had to turn back to Reykjavik. What a wonderful morning at sea!

CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 13:00

Report from Eldey: This afternoon the swell had increased a little and we set sail again. Eager for adventure, overalls on and hot chocolates in hand we set sail! We very quickly spotted 3 harbour porpoises, and watched them for a moment though they quickly carried on. We then continued into the bay! We sailed for a while trying to spot but were unsuccessful, and therefore handed out complimentary tickets so that everyone can try their luck again! Even though we didnt see many cetaceans, we still enjoyed the gorgeous views and fresh sea air!
