On today's tours, we saw several humpback whales, starting with two feeding individuals and a passing minke whale in the morning. Later, another humpback whale tail-slapped and bubble-fed, coming close to our boat. Afternoon tours featured a spectacularly active humpback whale breaching and tail slapping. Despite rain and wind, our sightings were amazing and memorable.
Throughout the day, we saw many humpback whales, starting with Mr Bubbles and his fluke dives, followed by a pod of white-beaked dolphins bow-riding. Another humpback whale dove under our boat, giving us an awe-inspiring view. Later tours encountered challenging weather and complimentary tickets were issued due to no sightings.
This morning we saw two humpback whales, one swimming right under the boat. Later, we encountered another humpback whale and a pod of white-beaked dolphins. Afternoon tours revealed more humpback whales and a minke whale and evening tours included multiple humpback whales, playful white-beaked dolphins, and a stunning sunset.
Today, we found three of four most common species in the bay. We saw several humpback whales, including one named Hooker (due to its curved dorsal fin), and a few minke whales, some of which were a bit elusive. The evening tour was highlighted by several sightings of both whales and a pod of white-beaked dolphins, under a spectacular sunset.
This morning we sailed out into a grey bay and spotted a humpback whale showing its dark fluke. The next tours all found 2-3 more humpback whales, displaying their flukes during deep dives and one even lunge-feeding! We also saw a minke whale and enjoyed seeing the diversity of seabirds such as puffins and northern gannets flying.
Throughout today, we encountered at least 2 different humpback whales. In the morning we saw one quite close, with its fluke diving deep. Later, we got to enjoy them showing their white pectoral fins. Afternoon tours had close encounters as well, with some whales even breaching near the boat and even a spectacular lunge feed!
Unfortunately all our Whale Watching tours are cancelled today from Reykjavík, due to weather!
In the morning, we encountered multiple humpback whales displaying fluke dives and one even lunge feeding. Later, we saw another 4 humpback whales as well as an elusive minke whale. The afternoon featured breaching humpback whales and another close encounter. With the increasing winds, the rest of the tours were cancelled.
We enjoyed perfect sea conditions today and had great sightings. All in all we saw up to 8 very active humpback whales displaying fluke dives, feedings and multiple breachings! We also saw several pods of white-beaked dolphins, in addition to sightings of some minke whales. A great day at sea with spectacular wildlife encounters!
Today, we enjoyed excellent whale watching conditions. We first spotted a minke whale and then encountered pods of white-beaked dolphins and three solitary humpback whales. Later tours saw even more minke whales, and the highlight was the synchronisation of humpback whales and playful dolphins against a stunning sunset backdrop.
