Status: RUNNING

We are sailing out tonight to look for Northern Lights. We expect a moderate activity or 3 out of 9 with little to no clouds. Please contact us for further information at Elding@elding.is or +354 519 5000.

Sightings: It was a perfect night to be out searching for the aurora borialis, The skies were clear from cloud so that the vast amount of stars can be seen. There was also little wind but the wind that was there made being outside bitterly cold as the temperature was below 0. Half way through the tour a faint green hue could be spotted on the camera (remember camera´s pick up on the light better than our eyes can), we hoped it would get brighter so that a camera was not necessary and it did late in the evening as we started to head home but even this was very faint and you had to concentrate and sqint in the general direction of the mountain Esja. We felt that this was not good enough so we offered our passengers a return trip for free, which can be redeemed in the next two years. Hopefully they will have more chance next time.
