Akureyri | Schedule & Prices
We offer two different kinds of whale watching tours from Akureyri in North Iceland. Our fleet has two fundamentally different vessels and thus, options to choose from; one is a 200 passenger catamaran and the other a 12 seater RIB. We offer a whale guarantee - or come again for FREE!

Elding's Souvenir Shop
Elding's souvenir shop is located on board Fífill, a retired fishing boat permanently marooned at Reykjavík's Old Harbour. It's a relaxed place to browse Icelandic souvenirs, practical outdoor items, and a small selection of second hand clothing, all with a focus on Icelandic design, production and sustainability.

It did not take us long before we stumbled upon 2 humpback whales that were very relaxed. We watched them for over half an hour before we decided to move away as boats were accumulating around the whales.

We went to similar areas as we did in the morning, but it took us a long time to find our first whale. We then saw the blow from a humpback whale quite far away, and it was blowing very frequently. As we got closer, we realised that there was another humpback whale right next to it!

We journeyed out into Faxafloi with every seat filled, stopping at one of our preferred destinations to scout the area. After a short pause, our captain saw the blow of a humpback whale within 500 metres, but we soon discovered that in fact it was two individuals and appeared to be the pair from yesterday.
