The weather was great as we sailed out this morning. After quite a while, we spotted a small pod of around 6 white-beaked dolphins, and then another pod of about 15-20 individuals with a lot of young ones from this year! In the afternoon we found a minke whale as well as a pair of humpback whales close to the coastline in front of mount Esja.

A thick layer of clouds covered the sky as we went out onto the bay, however we remained hopeful. The glow of the Imagine Peace Tower lit up the sky and we were able to see the northern lights grow into the most beautiful arches in all colours.
The weather was as good as it can this morning. With a gentle breeze, we found a couple of feeding humpback whales just a few minutes outside of the harbour, and we were also able to spot a sneaky harbour seal! The sun continued to shine and warm us during our afternoon tour as we spotted 2-3 humpback whales near the harbour, as well as a minke whale.

Northern Lights Forecast Guide
Few natural phenomena are as mesmerising as the aurora borealis. These shifting curtains of colour sweep across the polar skies, painting them in hues of green, pink, and violet. While their appearance may seem unpredictable, scientists have developed ways to understand when and where they might occur and by studying the activity levels, we can estimate the likelihood of seeing them.

We were hopeful with the forecast for this evening. We made a quick stop at the Imagine Peace Tower where we found 2 humpback whales! Soon after we saw faint green northern lights but due to the quality we ended up issuing complimentary tickets.
We were enjoying the beautiful sunrise this morning when a minke whale suddenly popped up. Shortly after, we spotted the blow of a couple of humpback whales! We were then surprised by another solitary minke whale! In the afternoon we again found a minke whale and 2-4 humpback whales, some of which were feeding. What a great way to end a wonderful afternoon close to shore!

The morning started cold, with a bit of sunshine. We soon found a lone minke whale near the harbour and then 2 humpback whales between the islands - one of them even breached twice! In the afternoon we again found the 2 humpback whales. We could even see their white pectoral fins under the surface. On the way back we spotted two harbour porpoises.

We started the tour off with strong northern lights overhead! The snow beautifully reflected enough light for us to be able to enjoy the mountainy landscape, together with the city lights and the Imagine Peace Tower until we headed back home.

Everything was covered in snow as we left the harbour this morning. We found a minke whale and managed to see it surface a few times. In the afternoon the weather was still a challenge with thick snowfall, so the visibility was quite low and no wildlife was seen during the tour. Despite our best efforts, both tours offered complimentary tickets for another try.

This morning was a cold and slightly snowy start, making the scenery even more picturesque with rainbows! In the afternoon we again found the humpback whales since the morning and spent a good while with them.
