CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: After a couple of successful days, we headed out of the harbour full of hope. Just after sailing past Engey, we spotted our first blows! At first, we thought it was just one whale but as we got closer we realised that it was 2 humpback whales feeding in the same place. We were able to stay with these whales for quite a long time, watching them lunging through the water to feed and raising their tails high out of the water when they went for longer dives. They weren't socialising with each other but there must have been enough fish around for them both! While waiting for the whales to surface we also saw 2 grey seals bobbing in the water close to the boat. Suddenly, one of the whales came really close to the boat! Surfacing just a few metres away! It was incredible to be able to see the whole animal through the water. After two other boats joined us, we decided to leave and search some other areas in case there were other whales around. Unfortunately, we didn't spot any others so we sailed back to the pair and watched them a little bit longer before heading back to harbour after a great tour!
