Tour at 13:00

Quite a long tour today but finally a successful one after two days of no sightings. A bit windy but luckily the rain stayed off us throughout the tour. Our first cetacean (whales, dolphins, porpoises) of the day was a couple of Harbour Porpoises close to Reykjavik which were travelling very fast so didn't stay with us very long. Then we went very very far out into Faxaflói Bay and saw hundreds of Long-tailed Ducks, Some Eider Ducks, seagulls, Fulmars, and some Gannets. We were losing hope a little bit with the whales but then suddenly A BLOW 2 O'CLOCK!! A humpback Whale, whoo hoo. Excellent. Did a bit of tail slapping and rolling and obviously looking for food, sometimes coming very close to the boat so everyone can see. Just goes to show you that you never lose hope when it comes to wildlife and you should ALWAYS be ready for that signal saying I'M OVER HERE. Great tour.
