Tour at 20:30

Beautiful scenery, mind-blowingly amazing mid-night sun. Two rainbows, great photo opportunities and for you love birds out there you missed a very romantic tour. However, again no whales. Saw blows and a dorsal fin from a dolphin but nothing more once stopped. Puffins were great but complimentary tickets all round.

Tour at 17:00

Unfortunately not the best of tours. We spotted many Minke Whales at least 4-6 but they only came up once and weren't seen again so the passengers missed them. Very elusive behaviour, which is all part of nature. The Puffins were great though and many of them. But, complimentary tickets given.

Tour at 13:00 The Puffins at Akurey were remarkably active when we got there, flying around the boat and the island. On the way out into the bay, we spotted a Minke Whale but it went for a deep dive and did not resurface again. It was not long until we saw some big splashes in the distance. White-beaked dolphins, and lots of them!! What a spectacle! There were approximately 5 of them and they came within 1 metre to the ship several times, jumping splashing and diving, showing their white belly. We spent 10 minutes with them and then moved on, just to run into two Minke whales, feeding in a pair. Two Minkes on rather close sight, maybe 5 to 10 metres away. Lots of sunshine and calm waters topped off a very successful tour!

Tour at 09:00

Calm Sea and sunny weather‚ could not be better when we headed out to Faxaflói searching for whales. And this time we found three minke whales. They were diving for a long time, all of them but surfaced 3-5 times between diving again so we could have a good look at them. On the way back we visited the puffins at Akurey.
