Tour at 17:00

Cancelled due to strong wind out at sea.

Tour at 13:00

This tour was not as successful as the one before. The wind had picked up a lot and there were many white wave tops. During the tour we spotted briefly 2 Minke Whales but both times it only surfaced once and then went for a long deep dive. We then ended the tour with a stop in Akurey to see the Puffins and once again the Island didn't disappoint us and it was packed with them sitting both at the surface, on the Island and flying all around it.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Elding: We started this tour with a stop in Akurey to see how the Puffins where doing. The Island was packed with Puffins this morning so it looked very good. We then headed out and we didn't have to sail very far when we spotted the first Minke Whale. During the tour we spotted about 4-5 different Minke Whales and a very nice pod of Harbour Porpoises. A very successful trip.

Report from Hafsúlan: We started by sailing out to the puffin island Akurey where there were very many puffins this morning, both on the island and on the sea. We then sailed out to Faxaflói and soon a passenger spotted a whale not too far from us. Unfortunately we did not spot it again but we had then arrived in an area where it was easy to spot some more whales. Shortly afterwards we spotted the first Minke Whale and we got a good look at it for quite a while. We then headed on and found more Minke whales and we got a good look at two of them. After leaving those Minke whales we started heading back towards the harbour in the increasing wind and then suddenly two Minke whales came up right next to the boat! A great ending to our tour with at least seven Minke whales and we sailed back to the harbour happy.
