Tour at 17:00
It was still windy out on the bay this evening. We started out in Akurey, the puffin island, but there were not many puffins there for some reason. When we got out on the bay we were very lucky and found an area with many feeding birds, both gannets and other sea birds, and many minke whales as well. They were easy to watch, surfaced repeatedly close to the boat and were many in the area. There was also a minke whale mother with a calf with her, and they approached us four times during the tour.

It was a bit the same like in the morning! When we got the area from this morning we spotted several times a blow of a minke whale. There were a few animal in the area, but they made it rather difficult for us to approach them. We saw one minke whale surfacing twice in the distance and one rather close to the boat! Like this morning we saw many of the beautiful gannets!

The sun was shining but there was much wind out there in Faxaflói bay. Far out we got to an area with many feeding birds. We were very pleased to see so many gannets in the area! Soon we spotted a few minke whales, too, but they were not very cooperative today. We spotted two of them closer to the boat while they were surfacing there.
