Tour at 17:00

Really a wet day today! It kept on raining on this tour, as well. We spotted two minke whales and a group of white-beaked dolphins. We saw the dolphins jumping and breaching, too!

This afternoon the rain was still coming down but again we found a number of Minke whales. Towards the end of the trip one of the Minke whales came up very close to the boat, just about 15 metres away. It brought its whole head up out of the sea so we all got a good look at the whale. Another successful trip in spite of the rainy weather.

We started the trip at the puffin island and then headed out to look for the whales. It was raining quite hard, but we found a good area where there were a number of Minke whales. We were lucky enough to observe a Minke whale lunge feeding beneath a group of feeding seabirds. The whale came up with its mouth open and then turned on its side and stuck half of its tail out of the water. It did this a number of times, so we got a good look at the whale. After we left the Minke whales we found two groups of white-beaked dolphins.
