CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: Although the skies were grey and it was a little bit windy this afternoon, the waves had died down a bit since yesterday so we were all looking forward to going whale watching. After leaving the harbour, we headed straight for the area where a solitary humpback has been feeding for the last week. However, after searching there and surrounding areas, we realised that this individual had finally decided to move on. Either that or they had finally eaten all the fish! We headed further out, away from the islands in the direction of Hvalfjörður to search new places! We enjoyed lots of birds and the beautifully snowy mountains but were super unlucky today and didn't find any whales or dolphins. Today was the first time we didn't see anything all day since September! Due to this, we offered everyone on board complimentary tickets to come back again for free. Hopefully, everyone still enjoyed the boat ride and a few "whale punches" (hot chocolate with rum)!
