Tour at 17:00

Again we left from the harbour of Grindavík. We headed straight out to the area were we spotted the humpback whale on the 13:00 tour and started searching. We searched and searched for a long time and covered a large area, but unfortunately the humpback whale was nowhere to be found. What a disappointment! Our passengers got a complimentary ticket and can come with us on another tour for free and we look forward to seeing them again!

Tour at 13:00:

We decided to leave from Grindavík harbour in order to have land sheltering us from the north winds. We spent a long time searching for whales and then we suddenly saw a blow in the distance. What a surprise! It was a humpback whale. It was a lot of fun to watch and often came very close to the boat. We could see its huge body and white flippers. The whale was clearly feeding and several times we saw it rising vertically in the water with its mouth open. We could even see the small sea creatures it was feeding on. However it was a little bit lazy and didn’t want to show us its fluke -- until it surfaced for the last time before we left it, when it finally lifted its tail out of the water. We spent a long time with this humpback whale and were very satisfied.

Tour at 9:00

It was a very windy morning in the bay and the whales stayed in hiding. But despite the rough weather, we spotted three different groups of harbour porpoises, which are usually very shy and difficult to observe. We were able to watch them well for a short while, but then they decided to leave the boat behind. We kept on searching for a long time but could not find any other whales.
