Tour at 20:30

Report from Elding: On our way out we spotted a small splash most likely from Harbour Porpoises, but when we slowed down we didn't see it again so we kept on going. 30 minutes later there was another splash and we spotted the pod of Harbour Porpoises this time. We stayed with them as long as we could and then kept on searching, we didn't have to search for long until we spotted a Minke Whale. This Minke was really nice and calm, surfacing often and close to us even though the deep dives lasted rather long, 3-4 minutes but when it came up again after deep diving it was usually not faraway. After staying with it for a while we went a bit further watching the sun sitting down behind the glacier Snæfellsjökull and colouring the horizon red.

Tour at 17:00

We started the tour by going to the puffin island Lundey where we saw couple of puffins flying around. Short after the puffin Island we spotted a Minke Whale who was fast swimming in the same direction. We followed this minke whale for a while until it disappeared. For 30 minutes we didn't spot anything but on the way back to the harbour we spotted another minke whale that came up 5 times before disappearing in the sun. A small pod of Harbour Porpoises showed up 4 times on the way back to the harbour as well. A good tour in perfect weather.

Tour at 14:00

Report from Elding: Lundey was first stop again on this tour and there were still many Puffins on the island and flying around it. Out on Faxaflói bay we spotted 3-4 Minke Whales. They were not the easiest ones, surfaced 3-5 timed before long deep dives of 3-5 minutes and usually coming up a bit away from us but since they surfaced so often before each deep dive it gave us a chance to get closer to them.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafúlan: In beautiful weather we headed out again this afternoon. At Lundey the puffin island we spotted lots of puffins. It took us a long time to find the whales out in the bay. Then finally we spotted one minke whale surfacing far, far away. We tried to get closer but it was very difficult because the whale only surfaced one time and then took a deep dive again. With a lot of patients we finally got closer and the whale surfaced a few times very close, 5-20 meters so all our passengers could have a good look at it. We followed the whale for some time but then the time was out so we had to sail back. Then we spotted another one but only far away. So, two minke whales on this tour, fantastic weather and lots of puffins ;)

Tour at 10:0b

Report from Elding: Lundey was first stop this morning to see the Puffins and it looked absolutely beautiful. Really calm sea and many Puffins on the island and many sitting on the water around it. Out in Faxaflói bay we spotted 3 Minke Whales. Two of them came up close to the boat and the first one was absolutely fantastic. It surfaced many timed often so close and it was rolling under the surface so we could see the white belly, once it came with the whole belly out of the water and it had been feeding so much that it was all pink it was so full of food.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafúlan: The weather was great this morning when we headed out to Lundey and spotted a lot of puffins there. When we reached our normal whale watching area we spotted a pod of Harbour Porpoises surfacing a few times. After that we spotted a blow from a whale and then also a Minke Whale. Later on we found some Minke Whales in the same area surfacing quite often and close to the boat. The highlight this morning was a Mike Whale calve that surfaced really often and close to the boat. On our way back to the harbour we spotted another Minke Whale close to the boat. Really good tour!
