Tour at 17.00

We visited the Puffin Island Lundey. There were not so many Puffins on the island. Some were  flying around the island. We headed out into the bay. We started looking for whales. There were not so many birds out at the bay and we also didn’t spotted any whales so we gave our passengers complimentary tickets to come again on a Whale watching trip with us.

Tour at 13.00

We first stopped at the Puffin Island Lundey. May Puffins were flying around the island and many Kittiwakes were sitting on the cliffs. After this nice visit we headed out into the bay and started looking for whales. We soon spotted a Minke Whale. We stayed with it for a while. It surfaced really slowly close to the boat. We spotted some more Minke Whales in the area and also some diving Gannets. There were many birds out at the bay like Fulmars, Lesser black backed Gulls, Kittiwakes and Puffins. The Minke Whales came up all around the boat and some came up really close to the boat. But they also changed directions really quickly under water so it took us some time to spot them again. But we managed to spot them again. We saw really nice Minke Whales at this tour.

Tour at 9.00

We started this tour in Lundey Puffin Island and there were many puffins on the island this morning. Many other species were there as well, e.g. geese, lesser black backed gulls and fulmars. We then sailed out to Faxaflói and had to search for around 45 minutes before we came across some Harbour Porpoises. They were surfacing not far away from us and showed themselves quite well. A good first sighting. Then we sailed a little further and found a Minke Whale in the area which was a little difficult to observe, coming up a little far away and diving for a long time. But soon afterwards we found some more Minke Whales and one of them came really close to the boat, allowing us to see some of the details on its body. Really nice! Then on the way back we stopped for some more Minkes, also close to the boat. A nice tour.
