Tours at 13:00 & 14:00 & 17:00 & 20:30

Tours cancelled today due to strong wind in Faxaflói bay.

Tour at 10:00

Report from Elding: Absolutely amazing tour! We started a Akurey and found ourselves in the middle of many Puffins flying around and then once we got out into Faxaflói Bay the Minke Whales were in abundance too. Must have seen at least 5-7 during the whole tour. The passengers spotted the first two, great teamwork on board today. A couple of Minkes surfaced less than 20 meters from our boat and it was really nice to see them surfing the swells. We had a small pod of Harbour Porpoises which was delightful as they stayed with us for about 5 minutes coming 5 meters from us, looks like they were chasing fish. The Gannets came out of know here too show us their amazing diving sequence. One occasion we had about 10 gannets diving in to the water together at the same time. Really Great Tour.

Tour at 9:00

Report from Hafúlan: It was a very windy morning in the bay so finding the whales was a bit more challenging today. We started out with a really nice visit to the Puffin island Lundey, which presented an amazing sight with the waves breaking at its rocky shore and the Puffins and seabirds flying around it. Despite the conditions, we soon found Harbour porpoises which due to their shy character and small size are hard to spot even in calmer conditions. They were surfing and clearly enjoying the waves. Just a few metres away from them, a big Minke whale soon surfaced, followed by a second animal. We saw them a few more times up close until they descended for a deeper dive. After that, we found 2 more Minkes, one of them even diving underneath the boat. A good tour with a little bit of rollercoaster included! Birds seen on todays tours include; Gannets, Puffins, Kittiwakes, Fulmars, Guillemots, Arctic Terns, Cormorants, Eider Ducks and Gulls
